Breastfeeding/Lactation Support

Support to Help You Start Nursing Off Right

WBaby Face Icone understand the importance of helping new mothers successfully breastfeed their babies. Our Lactation Program offers support while you are in the hospital and then after you go home.

Support in the Hospital

During your stay at North Suburban, a registered nurse (RN) who is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) will visit you after your baby's birth to assist you with breastfeeding.

Support after You go Home

Once you are home, you can always give us a call at 303.457.6757 and we'll try our best to help you over the phone. For additional support, we also offer the following support groups to all patients:

  • Baby-on-the-Weigh Club: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday

    • Our lactation consultant will weigh your baby before and after feeding to help determine how much baby is getting; plus she can provide advice for any breastfeeding challenges you are facing
  • Baby-on-the-Weigh Support Group: Monday

    • Group format is similar to Baby-on-the-Weigh Club (above), but also offers a guest speaker to address specific topics related to baby's first year of breastfeeding and development
  • Baby-on-the-Weigh Spanish Support Group: 3rd Wednesday of Each Month

    • Same as Baby-on-the Weigh Club, but for Spanish-speaking moms.
